Grungy Monday#18

This is for Linda Ledbetter's Blog Challenge over at Studio L3 . It's my first submission for her Grungy Monday Challenge although I lurked viewing the submissions each week. This for Week#18. Inspired by Tim Holtz, the challenge was to follow his 12 Tags of Christmas 2009-Day 8.
I first inked tag with Wild Honey, Antique Linen, and Walnut Stain Distress Inks by Ranger according to Tim's directions. Distressed edges with Tim's distresser as he demonstrated on his tag. Stamped tag in black archival ink with flourish from Tim's Regal Flourish Visual Artistry Collection. Distressed tag's surface with sharp awl to finish background.
Then using Reflections Stamp from Tim's Stampers Anonymous line, stamped on vellum, tore edges and heat dried edges creating the burned effect. Glued my "vintage letter-with script not reversed by flipping over the stamped image. It showed through vellum perfectly! Stamped Woman in Repose-Rubber Stampede on Tim's Grungepaper in Archival Sepia Ink. Edged in Walnut Stain. Tim's Grungeboard Butterfly Wings inked with Antique Linen and edged with Colorbox metallic gold ink.
Now onto embellishing "my lady"! Centered Tim's Ivory button from Ideaology Collection and glued it in center of fabric flower cut with Tim's Tattered Flower Sissix Die. Stamped 2 French Postal Stamps from Tim's Visual Artistry Collection in clear embossing powder. Heat set stamped image. Inked with black and wiped off ink over embossed design which allowed design to stand out. Glued these under flower. Added tiny white antique buttons and ribbon from stash. Also Tim's pen nib and memoir pin from his Idealogy line seemed to be perfect to convey love letter theme. Faint swipe of copper Stickles to her face image for sparkle.
This is one of my very favorite stamps-although not Tim's-so I loved this tag. Very fun to apply the Christmas Tag Instructions from Tim to an everyday image. Would like to think my lady is rereading her love letter from long ago. Almost as if she became that beautiful butterfly and journeyed back in time to be with her lost love. If only for a few moments in her daydreams.
Thanks, Linda for the challenge!
